Martin is a Presbyterian minister who lives in Auckland. He holds a Masters in Public Health as well as a Bachelor of Divinity. Alongside the police, he has worked with schools in the UK, helping them provide equal opportunities for pupils of minority sexualities. As part of his most recent parish role he facilitated parents at his church in a group where family and friends of lesbian and gay people could get together to share their experiences and concerns. He runs a homestay in Auckland and is not currently working in parish ministry.
